What Families Are Saying

“Dr. Murray was excellent. She was extremely thorough, took the time to explain every detail, and overall made me feel at ease with the issues I was having. I would HIGHLY recommend her!”

“As a teacher, I've always heard great things about Dr. Murray's office from former students and their parents. It just made sense for me to bring my own son to her. Dr. Murray was extremely informative during her evaluation, and my son really enjoys his therapist. She's super professional and writes up comprehensive notes so we can support him at home. Really pleased with the journey so far.”

“I have been looking for a doctor that specializes in adult special needs and nobody would return my call. I left a message and Dr. Murray's office called me immediately the next morning. It was the best decision I made. She took her time and was so patient. We previously took a family member to another doctor who couldn't get an accurate eye exam. Dr. Murray was specific on what needed to be done and said there's no reason why it couldn't be done, you might just have to do things in a different manner. She was the best eye doctor for our family member with special needs.”

“Exceedingly professional staff who works like a well-oiled machine. Everyone here is kind, knowledgeable, and fun! I trust them entirely and have referred other parents to bring their children in for an evaluation. We have seen remarkable improvement in our child and can't thank this team enough!”

“Our child with amblyopia received such a great help here. From the lovely welcome at the front desk to a very impressive intake evaluation by Dr. Murray. Dr. Christina Murray is on the high scale of providing such an individual exam and research of the best therapy individually for our child. She spent so much time with us, with no speeding, explaining every detail of how the brain processes visual information, and how vision problems affect a child's ability to read and learn. Honestly, I was way too skeptical at the beginning and was tearing by the end when Dr. Murray showed us our child's progress. Every child's problem matters for her and she works very closely with school and physical therapy.”

“Absolutely fantastic experience! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, creating a welcoming environment for both little patients and parents. I went to so many doctors but Dr. Murray was the first doctor at all listening to my concerns and taking them seriously, offering a holistic approach. My child has made significant progress and I appreciate the personalized approach they take. Highly recommend!”

“Dr. Murray is excellent. My daughter's vision was improved 100% as a result of Dr. Murray's work. Recently she developed visual changes which needed to be addressed. First we went to a chain store covered by insurance which gave an incorrect prescription and caused needless waste of money for the exam and glasses which did not work. Then we came back to Dr. Murray and she figured out exactly what the issue was and corrected it in the first visit. Highly recommend.”

“Dr. Murray was fantastic! She was able to get my son to feel comfortable so she could complete the exam with him. She was a recommendation from a speech therapist and I'm so glad I listened.”

Katie SwansonMom of a son · 1 year ago

“Our son who has ocular albinism and nystagmus has benefitted greatly from the program here. His ability to track while reading has made significant improvement and we are seeing the results when he is reading and doing schoolwork.”

“I am incredibly grateful for the progress my child has made. My child's reading levels and confidence in school improved so much. I highly recommend Dr. Murray and her staff as they are caring and professional.”

Rebeca AlvaradoParent · 1 year ago

“I came for my eyes to be checked and came back with my 6-year-old son for his eyes as well. Both times we were taken to a room by the doctor without any waiting time and she performed a VERY detailed exam. Very happy with the way she explained our issues and how to manage them. Highly recommend!”

“As an occupational therapist, I feel so blessed to have a place to refer children for comprehensive visual care. Dr. Murray looks beyond the eyes to see how the brain, body, and eyes are all connected and affecting function including motor, learning, and self-esteem/mental health. She supports her clients by connecting families to other resources in the community and makes sure her children receive holistic care across all areas of development. Children who do vision therapy with Dr. Murray make TREMENDOUS progress. If your child is having any difficulty at all at home, school, or in community settings, I highly recommend going to see Dr. Murray.”

“Our four-year-old son was diagnosed with amblyopia, which means one of his eyes wasn't doing its job properly. The team here completely changed his life. I cannot believe how well his eyes are working together now after 18 weeks of sessions and homework. He's graduating out of the program today! He shows so much more stamina to sit and do activities. He has depth perception, visual spatial awareness, can track and read, and is overall such a more confident kid. I couldn't be more grateful for the team. Thank you for everything you've done to support our son.”

“So happy I went for a second opinion for my 6-year-old after seeing the ophthalmologist. The shift in focus to look at his eyes as part of a larger system and understanding how it all works together, then devising a plan to rectify the issue other than "here are glasses, see you in a year," is exactly what we needed. The doctor and the office staff are phenomenal, patient, knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. Would HIGHLY recommend. A+++”

“I was blown away by Dr. Murray's knowledge and communication about vision processing disorder, something we had never heard of at the time. She made my son very comfortable during the evaluation and spent a lot of time with us reviewing her findings and next steps. All of the staff is wonderful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.”

“When we met with Dr. Murray we knew we were in the right place. She's the first person who truly was able to articulate everything I was seeing as a parent and provide a plan of action to help our daughter. We are seeing amazing progress! The staff is excellent, the environment is clean, well-organized, and welcoming. My daughter loves coming here and even enjoys doing her homework!”

“Dr. Murray and the staff are so kind and empathetic. My son has autism and is mostly nonverbal. We've come here twice and both times the service he received has been outstanding. It is difficult to find providers who have the patience and care for people with special needs, but Dr. Murray has been fantastic! I'm so happy we found this place and will continue having my son's yearly eye exams here.”

Sandra GarciaMom of a child with autism · 2 years ago

“Dr. Murray and her staff are wonderful! Getting an assessment and then therapy here has been super helpful for my daughter. She got headaches at school almost daily, and whenever she read she tired easily, lost where she was, and had a hard time staying focused on the text. All of this got much better with a few months of therapy. It was a commitment that was absolutely worth it!”

Sibylla HochMom of a school-age daughter · 3 years ago

“Terrific experience in a clean, well-organized facility. All personnel wore smiles throughout my visit. Felt very safe. The doctor offered excellent service and explained every step of my eye exam along the way in terms I could understand. Check-in and check-out were both seamless with little waiting. Would highly recommend based on my first visit.”

“If I could give them 10 stars I would. I'm so grateful for finding this practice. We had struggled with reading and not knowing what was wrong for 4 years, to the point I was asking the school to do testing for dyslexia. Since starting therapy with Dr. Murray we have seen such great improvement. My child is doing so much better in school and reading has greatly improved.”

FAQ

Common Questions

At what age should my child have their first eye exam?

The American Optometric Association recommends a first comprehensive eye exam between 6 and 12 months, another at age 3, and again before kindergarten. After that, annual exams are recommended for school-aged children. Read more about pediatric exams →

Do you take my insurance?

We accept most major vision insurance plans and many medical plans. Bring your insurance card to your first visit and we'll verify coverage and explain any out-of-pocket costs before your exam. See insurance and new-patient info →

How long does an eye exam take?

Plan for about 45–60 minutes for a comprehensive adult exam. Pediatric exams are typically similar in length but vary by age and what we need to evaluate. We never rush. Your eyes deserve a thorough look.

Can I bring my whole family in on the same day?

Yes, and we love it when families come in together. Booking back-to-back appointments saves you trips and is one of the most popular ways our families use us. Just let us know when you book.

Do you offer vision therapy?

We focus on primary eye care plus specialty binocular vision evaluations. Vision therapy itself is rendered through our affiliated practice, Vision & Learning Center. If your evaluation here calls for vision therapy, we coordinate the referral directly.
